Meine Biographie

February 2006

Unfortunately I don't know the exact date of my birthday. My first human did not lay any importance to it and so did not inform us. And my mother also did not know the exact date. Probably she was too busy to look after all of us. Hmm, I even can't tell you how many brothers and sisters I have got. Rather embarassing... But at least I know where I was born. It was in Kerns a small village in the canton of Obwalden in the center of Switzerland. Exactly, it is onw of the three cantons that is responsible that there exists a country named Switzerland after all! If that is not a reason to be proud of my origin!

My mother is - like the one of Wiesia - a rabbit for breeding. We belong to the race Deilenaar (you can find more information about this beautiful race here). I could not get really close to her as we children were soon separated from her and put into single cages.

Soon I had to learn that I did not meet all the requirements of my race because I did not get a mark in my ear as did all my sisters and brothers. Somehow this is not too bad (to get such a mark in the ear must hurt after all!) but from my mother I had learned that is not a good omen. I just could sit and hope that somebody will find me that did not pay too much attention to the standards of my race.

My lucky day! To be precice my look already started a week before that. Because in this week a human called Réjeanne called my human as she was looking for a new companion. When my humand learned that she did not look for a rabbit to breed (my "beautiful" sisters were all sold already) he remembered me and proposed her a rabbit "that was a little bit too heavy". And she said, yes, I want her.

But the day was then - even though I was happy - rather exciting and strenuous. So I was packed into a box by my first humand and brought to Rothenburg where I was put into another box. Réjeanne petted me nearly all the way to Basle and tried to soothe me but I only got calm when I was sitting in my new vcage. I had to get accustomed that you could look inside from everywhere but at least a little bit of safety.

Today I was lifted out of my cage and put on the floor. In the beginning I did not quite know waht she wanted from me but then I realised rather quickly: she wanted me to hop around! And of course I fulfilled her wish very quickly. Unfortunately the floor is a bit slippery and this I have to get accustomed to but I certainly will. Unfortunately the fun did not last too long. But she promised that I will be let out again and again. And happily she did not break her promise until now.

I have gotten my nickname: Queen of Escaping. Well, I managed to escape from my cage three times: I managed to open the door even though it was secured with some wire. Ha, I am very proud of myself. Unfortunately Réjeanne now has found a system that is not to be open again.

August 30th 2006

At last Réjeanne has understood that I want to run around all day long - as did Zosia and Wiesia. Until now it was only for some hours a day. But in the night I am still imprisoned in my cage but I am sure that I will also manage to stay out in the night. some day... In the moment I am happy that all the rooms are open for me and especially that I can go out on the rather spacious balcony. I also have already found my preferred places. Perhaps some day I will tell you where.

I have found a new work. I took lessons with Réjeanne and am now a studied Bach flower remedies expert. For all of you who don't believe me, here you can see a proving picture.
